Hattie, SHARE!

Even though Mum wrote a whole book about Hattie learning to share, I have to be honest — she’s still not that great at it. Okay, fine — Mum might say I’m the one who’s not great at sharing. But come on! It’s hard!

Two Hens with attitude, a Polish Chicken and an Appenzeller Spitzhauben chicken.

Hattie eats super slow. Did you know her beak doesn’t open all the way? She has to peck teeny bites all day long. Meanwhile, I’m done with my treats in two seconds. And then there’s her snack pile… just sitting there… calling my name. Sometimes I can’t help it — I swipe a bite.

Hattie does not appreciate this. She gets REALLY upset. Like, jump-up, peck-my-head, chest-bump-me-into-next-week upset. In chicken language? That means I’m gonna cluck you up!

When that happens, I run and hide behind Mum until the Hattie storm passes. She can be such a BEAST!

But she’s also the best sister. And I am working on my sharing skills. (Kind of.) Trust me — I’ve learned my lesson.

If you haven’t checked out our book Botl and Hattie, Share! — it’s a great reminder that sharing is actually kinda fun… and it keeps your sister from pecking you in the head.

Treat on!

Love,Botl
